The limiting step in a weigh filling line may be the weigh cycle, but it can also be product refill, pack presentation, sealing, coding, checkweighing, reject handling or manual operator work.
A machine can complete a fast weighing cycle on a bench and still produce fewer finished packs per minute once the real product, pack opening, sealing method and operator tasks are included.

Open-mouth bags, pouches, jars and tubs can each limit the practical discharge and transfer time.
Sealers, coders, checkweighers and conveyors must accept the filled pack at the same sustained rate.
Manual bag presentation, sampling, reject handling and replenishment can be the true bottleneck on semi-automatic lines.
The most reliable estimate comes from timing each repeatable step with production-quality product and packaging, then allowing for checks, changeover and normal stoppages.

These questions help avoid a quoted output that is technically possible but not practical on the buyer’s actual line.
Real output includes product refill, pack handling, discharge, sealing, inspection, sampling and operator work. A weigh cycle alone does not represent the complete finished-pack cycle.
A multihead weigher can increase output for suitable products, but only when the packer, bagger, sealer and conveyors can accept the higher discharge rate. It is not automatically the best route for low-volume or difficult-flow products.
Use production-quality product and the real pack wherever possible. Product photos can help with early advice, but output testing needs enough material to run repeated cycles and observe refill, settling and discharge behaviour.
